Hi all, double barreled question here. Anyone here had any success using the old Altiris 6.9 Deployment Solution for Windows 10 machines? I've been using it to deploy some 64bit packages but haven't tried imaging with it yet.not even sure if it's possible. Any views/opinions on the latest Symantec DS 7.x solution. I heard years ago that the product went downhill when Symantec took it over but would be keen on more recent opinions on the software.

Which was causing us some troubles with new hardware when I left that company. Many of the new hardware drivers were being release for WinPE 3.0 and newer.

Dvbviewer te2 plugins. We hacked our own PXE boot wim based on WinPE 3.0 so that we could deploy current hardware at the time. I did contact a buddy at my old job and they are now using Altiris 7.6 which does support win10 deployment.

My buddy did say they have a lot less issues with 7.6 than with 6.9 if that gives you any comfort. Based on what I know of 6.9 you are probably out of luck deploying Win10 with 6.9.

I would also have to promote the MDT/FOG/PDQ Deploy route. Yes they are not an integrated package, but they just work without the constant PITA that Altiris was. Thanks so far. Yeah I think I'm at a dead end with Altiris 6.9 and imaging although it still can be used for rolling out packages quite easily on Win 10 as long as you use the 64 bit agent and packages. I would love to hear directly from a current Symantec DS User (not a salesperson.of which there seem to be many on SW) who used the old product and now uses the current one. Thanks George1421 for reaching out to your friend. Back when you used Altiris did any of you have issues with the agent slowing down machines it was installed on? I've heard this PDQ Deploy mentioned a few times and read a few posts saying it works best coupled with SW for auditing etc. I will have to investigate further.

I can say PDQ Deploy works with both Spiceworks and even better with PDQ Inventory (but this does add another scanning tool to your environment). You sure can't beat the (paid for) versions in price and performance of the Admin Arsenal tools. I do remember the 6.9 inventory agents did hit the target systems hard in the matter of performance. I do remember a big dust up about scheduling the inventory when the user first logged on so we had to change the schedule for 10 am local time to take the inventory.
